There’s something deeply vulnerable about starting before you feel ready. When I first walked into Round Two Fitness, I wasn’t looking for community yet—I was looking for safety. I chose private training because I didn’t know where I stood physically, and truthfully, I wasn’t ready to be seen in that way. Corrie was my trainer, and to say we hit it off was an understatement. She gently guided me forward into something bigger than I expected, and gave me the confidence to go for it.
That next step became the Fitness Fundamentals class. It wasn’t perfect attendance, and it wasn’t always easy to show up between motherhood, business ownership, a 9–5, and everything in between—but it was mine. It was effort, growth, and small moments of choosing myself, even when life felt full. The gym never felt intimidating, it was welcoming, encouraging, and it felt like a place I belonged.
So when the Strong & Calmathon came around in support of the Pay Fit Forward Fund, it felt like something I wanted to be part of—not just as a Sudbury photographer, but as someone still learning, still growing, still showing up. This fund supports women in Sudbury accessing pelvic floor physiotherapy, injury recovery, and fitness programs—things that should never feel out of reach, yet so often are.
It was a hot, sweaty afternoon inside, while snow fell quietly outside (A typical Sudbury day). And within those walls, something powerful happened. Women showed up—for themselves, for each other, and for the ones who needed it most. I watched strength in its truest form—not just in movement, but in community, generosity, and shared experience. These are the stories we tell. The ones where women carry each other forward.
